Wood Energy Solutions 3-6 June 2008

The Wood Energy Solutions 2008 Conference will be held in Koli, North Karelia, Finland from 3-6 June 2008. North Karelia is a particularly suitable location for this conference. The region is renowned as a European leader in the use and development of wood energy.

The Wood Energy Solutions (WES) 2008 Conference will feature presentations by experts in the wood energy field, highlighting both local and regional implications of increasing the use of bioenergy as well as wood fuel trade and profitability.

Various educational visits will be arranged to wood fuel demonstration sites and technology enterprises in North Karelia.

The conference is organised by the Wood Energy Net (Wenet), North Karelia University of Applied Sciences and the European Forest Institute. It is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the Regional Council of North Karelia.

The WES 2008 conference will be of interest to bioenergy entrepreneurs, local authorities, policy makers and wood energy experts. The conference will also enable Wenet members and partners from around Europe to meet and exchange ideas.
